Krispie Treat Christmas Tree Recipe |
These Christmas tree rice chips are so fun and cute to make! You can really use whatever candy you want as an ornament. I love having children help me with this because they really can't mess up. This is great for parties, baking sales, or just a fun treat for kids on Christmas.
Ingredients:
- 10.5 ounces Marshmallow
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 12 Miniature Reese Cups
- 3 cups of Sugar Powder
- 3 tablespoons Corn Syrup
- 6 cups of Krispies rice cereal
- 3 tablespoons Butter
- Green Food Coloring
- 1/3 cup of M&M Minis
- 12 Candy Stars
Instruction
- To help in the shape of the cone, I took the foam that came in the waffle cone package to protect the cone and cut it to make a shape to help form the tree.
- Cover the baking sheet with baking paper.
- In a medium to large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
- Add enough food coloring to make the mixture dark green (it will lighten up when the cereal is added).
- Remove from heat
- Add Rice Krispies cereal and stir until the cereal is well coated.
- Allow about 4 minutes.
- Butter your hands and blend shapes into cone shapes.
- Place the cone on the prepared frying pan.
- Let it cool and tight for several hours.
- Mix the powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup in a bowl until smooth.
- Transfer to a pipe bag or zippered bag to distribute to the cake.
- Pipes like bouquets of flowers around each tree.
- Mini M&M room like ornaments in a bouquet of flowers.
- Pipe an icing drop on a tree to act as glue and attach the stars.
- Place Reese upside down on the pan. Pipe the icing on top and place the tree on top.
- Allow to set before serving.
