Krispie Treat Christmas Tree Recipe

Krispie Treat Christmas Tree Recipe

These Christmas tree rice chips are so fun and cute to make! You can really use whatever candy you want as an ornament. I love having children help me with this because they really can't mess up. This is great for parties, baking sales, or just a fun treat for kids on Christmas.

Ingredients:
  • 10.5 ounces Marshmallow
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 12 Miniature Reese Cups
  • 3 cups of Sugar Powder
  • 3 tablespoons Corn Syrup
  • 6 cups of Krispies rice cereal
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • Green Food Coloring
  • 1/3 cup of M&M Minis
  • 12 Candy Stars

Instruction
  1. To help in the shape of the cone, I took the foam that came in the waffle cone package to protect the cone and cut it to make a shape to help form the tree.
  2. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper.
  3. In a medium to large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  4. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
  5. Add enough food coloring to make the mixture dark green (it will lighten up when the cereal is added).
  6. Remove from heat
  7. Add Rice Krispies cereal and stir until the cereal is well coated.
  8. Allow about 4 minutes.
  9. Butter your hands and blend shapes into cone shapes.
  10. Place the cone on the prepared frying pan.
  11. Let it cool and tight for several hours.
  12. Mix the powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup in a bowl until smooth.
  13. Transfer to a pipe bag or zippered bag to distribute to the cake.
  14. Pipes like bouquets of flowers around each tree.
  15. Mini M&M room like ornaments in a bouquet of flowers.
  16. Pipe an icing drop on a tree to act as glue and attach the stars.
  17. Place Reese upside down on the pan. Pipe the icing on top and place the tree on top.
  18. Allow to set before serving.
