Malteser Millionaires Shortbread Recipe

Malt biscuit base, homemade caramel filling, and malteser spread chocolate with maltesers. Best millionaires malteser cakes!

Ingredient
Biscuit Base
  • 250 g of plain butter
  • 600 g malt milk biscuits

Chocolate Malteser Layer
  • 100-200 g maltesers
  • 200 g chocolate milk
  • 200-400 g malteser spread

Homemade Caramel
  • 4 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 397 g condensed milk (one can)
  • 200 g of plain butter
  • 3 tablespoons caster sugar


Instructions
For The Biscuit
  1. Blitz the biscuits in a food processor into small crumbs, and add melted butter - either pulse in the food processor several times until the mixture is combined, or mix in a bowl.
  2. Insert the biscuits into 9x9 "square tin and press firmly.

For Caramel
  1. In a large saucepan pour condensed milk, butter, sugar, and golden syrup and melt over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved - stir frequently to stop anything from catching.
  2. After the sugar has dissolved, turn the heat high and allow the mixture to boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes with constant stirring so that the mixture does not enter. Be careful because this mixture is very hot and can burn you if it splashes again!
