Beef Steak Toasts Recipe

It was Burn's Night next week and everyone would dive into haggis, vaporize whiskey and quote Burns as best they could after downing too much gold juice. I think this steak grinder will make a nice change if you have friends going around for drinks and want to have something different on Burn’s Night.

Cook Time: 6 Mins
Total Time: 16 Mins

Ingredient
  • 150 g / 5 ounces of beef
  • 6 slices of shallot
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oragano
  • 6 slices of whole wheat bread
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tbap mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • mixed salad leaves
  • broken sea salt and black pepper
  • some chili flakes


Instructions
  1. Cut the bread crusts and cut each into 2 parts and bake for about 1 minute under a hot grill until golden on both sides.
  2. Mix mustard with mayonnaise and spread evenly on each slice of toast.
  3. Heat a heavy skillet and brush the meat with olive oil.
  4. Roast beef in a hot skillet for about 2 minutes on each side. Remove from pan, cover and rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Cut the beef into 6 slices and arrange it on top of the prepared toast.
  6. Sprinkle the salad leaves and sliced onions.
  7. Mix salt, pepper, chili and oregano and place in a small bowl for guests to season their own toasts, or just sprinkle on yourself to save a little washing!
